I purchased a laptop from Dell online around 6 p.m. this evening (Saturday). Now five hours later, not even an order acknowledgement e-mail has arrived, even though the webpage said that my order was successfully completed. Further, this new order is not showing up on my online Dell account.
Is this typical for Dell purchases made after-hours on weekends? I've never purchased anything online and not received some sort of automated confirmation immediately.
How long should I wait before re-submitting this purchase? Dell customer support over the phone not surprisingly could not give me any information on this. The first question I was asked was what the order number for this purchase is. Sorry, but I flunked out of Sixth Sense 101. I don't want to place a new order only to find two computers being charged to my credit card!

Take around 48 hours for them to process the order, plus with the weekend and all ull see it on monday.

Thanks for this info. My worry stems from having placed another laptop order a few months ago on a weekday, for which the acknowledgement e-mail arrived within 10 minutes and the confirmation e-mail w/ order number 2 hours thereafter.

Acknowledgements occur during the next business day. I checked the status of my order from Dell and I already received the package but it wasn't updated. It still says it is in transit. Kind of funny. If they say 'did you receive it?' I could say no. LOL!
