Hi, I am new here and have a question.
I have a Dell 1505 laptop Dual Core
1.7 ghz dual core processor
169 GM Hard drive
DVDRW/CDRW
2 GM DDR2 Ram 256MB Video Nvidea 8400
DVD/CDRW
Wirelesss built in
Office 2007
Here is my problem, I pluged in my MP3 player and no sound is coming out of the speakers. I checked everything and it shows I should have sound.

have your tried running Dell diagnostics at startup by hitting F12 when system is booting up? At least you will know if its a Windows or driver problem.

Where did you plug in your MP3 Player. The only audio input is for the mic and it's not stereo. Most MP3 aren't passing through audio through the USB port. Need more information to help you (I.E. What MP3 Player, where plugged in, how are you trying to play this, do normal sounds work (clicking sounds, start-up sounds))

Ok be very patient with me, this laptop is a whole new experience for me..lol
On the side, I believe it is the Mic. We do have sounds on start up etc...
It is an iPod. I went into the control panel under sound. speakers, properties, levels..on this tab there is only the balance..on the Vista sight it showed line in connections..there were like 5 things to adjust...mine doesn't show any of those.
