    Just got a brand new Dell 1525, looks great and works fine, but the fan is really annoying, much louder than all other new notebooks I´ve seen. Has anyone the same experience, or is there something wrong with the fan ? Can I turn it down or off when not needed ?

    Yes, the fan is very loud and annoying. Not just the volume either, but the way it comes on, not smoothly but very abrubtly.
