So my 1520 came in yesterday and I did the clean install that everyone recommends to get rid of bunk software, anyways long story short, when im in my computer managment it says my display adaptor is the standard VGA graphics card, when I ordered and payed for a 256 mb 8600 Gt nvidia.

Is this a problem of theres not installing it, or is my computer not reading the card or what? I tried to download the nvidia driver, but it ran and said it couldent find it or something along those lines.

Please anyone help, im totally over my head here.

Shijima, there is no problem with your graphics card. Anytime Windows has no official driver for a device, it installs a generic driver that will enable the device to function in the most basic of ways. (ie your graphics card can display a picture but not much else/why it is called Standard VGA) I suggest you download the drivers from Dell for the Graphics Card and install them. After installing you should see that the name changes back to the appropriate name for the card.

Ooops I should read your post more carefully. Try downloading the 101.28 drivers from laptopvideo2go.com and following the directions to install them.
