I am currently configuring M1530 and testing optimal overclocking rates on the GPU. Ofcourse the final test is just to make sure that the computer doesn't crash while stressing the system but I am wondering if anyone have a decent estimate on which temperatures I should avoid?

I have currently been playing Crysis and after about 40-50 minutes, the heat on the GPU has risen to 81 Celsius (with 8% about overclocking).

    Comments, question or recommendations?

The GPU at stock on my M1530 heated up to a max of about 77C while gaming, elevating the back of the laptop like it would be with the 9-cell battery dropped the temperatures by about 5-7C as long as it's not covering the vent. I'd try doing that with overlclocking if it's too hot for you. It probably isn't of too much concern until the temps hit 85 or 90C though I prefer them to stay below 80C personally.

I Got 8600M GT 256MB GDDR3. I will be recieving my NC2000 tomorrow so I assume that there wont be a problem for much longer, but nice to know where I should set the limit.

I tried running Crysis unclocked and at one time it maxed out at 80 degrees, so I assume that 8% overclocking with +1-2 degrees isnt that much.

u do bring up a point because 8 percent is about only 5 fps extra

What program are you guys using to measure the GPU temp? Is there a program you would recommend for measuring both the CPU and GPU temps?

Thanks. Do you know if Riva Tuner works with the 8600M GT?

GPU temp will change depending on the driver.

My idle temp went up 7C after update w/ 167.51 from nvidia.

I am currently using Ntune for both monitoring of GPU-temp and change in clock speed. Anyone recommend any other program are more than welcome to argue for it =)

8% clock increase for 5fps is quite a gain according to me. Playing Crysis in 18-23fps or 23-28 is quite the difference. I am running Crysis in Medium/High settings with a fps of 20-30fps. I can post the results when I've got the cooling pad if there is interest to know..

My 8600m GT DDR2 runs at a max of 60°C overclocked to Core - 600 (475), Mem - 440 (400) (memory doesn't like to go any further than that without the driver crashing and being restarted)
