I just got a 15% off coupon for outlet systems. This is not cool.

Can I do anything about this after I placed my order?

I'm afraid if I ask for it to be applied and then ask for it to be cancelled, it may not go well.

I think I will definitely cancel it and order something else.

Inspiron 1420s are a lot cheaper than the xps laptops in the outlet, so I might just do that instead ... save me money.

Now I'm mad ... quite mad. Dell's employees apparently can't show up to work on time. I'm calling at 7am central and they are "closed".

I hear ya. I dealt with waiting a whole month for a new laptop then deciding that I'd go with outlet and the day after it ships I get the 15% coupon. I'll just be happy to have my laptop.

Well ... I spent 3 hours on the phone (2:55:55 of it on hold) and they couldn't apply the coupon. The Dell rep. said to order a different system, apply the coupon and return the first one.

So. No more XPS M1330 for me, I got an Inspiron 1420.

Guess it worked out better for my wallett. Went from $989 with the XPS M1330 go $629 with the 1420.

I should be receiving the 1330 sometime next week and the 1420 also sometime next week. I guess once I receive the 1330, I schedule a return.

All in all, this was an ok experience except Dell's customer care opened 2 hours late and I spent a LOT of time on the phone.

I have experienced, in general, that outlet coupons, if they are coming, come on Thursday mornings. So if you are on the fence about an outlet purchase, wait till Thursday to see if a coupon arrives in your email. They certainly don't come every week, and it had been a month since the last 15% off coupon - but that one came on a Thursday morning as well.

BTW I also ordered a 1420 with my outlet coupon, for my daughter to take to college. Hoping it will be a good one!
