This is a question to all of those college kids who have purchased anything from Dell. I recently bought a m1530 (3/10) and I wanted to check the status of it, so i naturally try to login to my account. it says that there are no orders, and then i click the link "find missing orders" and i get this message saying i am not able to add this customer number because it is not home, home and home office, small business, or a dell outlet customer number. I called Dell this morning and they were like clueless. I was forwarded to three different people, one of whom said I had to make a Premiere business account, but I tried doing that but that cannot be done unless you own a business... and then one person was like uhh hold and immediately transferred me, and the last guy was like HMMMM and said he would email and call me with my status. I tried logging in with my school email and such but that also did not work. i am so confused. any solutions?

    That doesn't make any sense.

I can confirm that you'll have issues viewing an education order on a Dell on-line customer account. I gave up on that a long time ago.

BUT, if you talk with regular CS and just give them your order number...even they should be able to view the tracking information. Don't even mention its an EPP order, as that will confuse them.

i mean i could track it via the phone and stuff, but why would they restrict me from viewing my own order because i used an educational discount? its just inconvenient but as long as my notebook comes soon and has all the working parts and works great, then that's all that really matters. I was just wondering if anyone was able to get around the problem, if they were in my position.

I am having the same problem, I ordered with a member purchase program (discount from work) and I cannot see my laptop order in my account. I can check the status of my order from the e-mail they sent me though. I also tryed to add the customer number associated with the member purchase program to my account because they are different and it wouldnt let me. Pretty stupid if you ask me...

i could check it if i do "check order status" on dell.com but i can't see any detailed information like shipping and such. like, does everyone who uses a EPT program have this same problem? I just think that its odd Dell would not address this problem.
