OK so here is what happened. As some of you may know from my previous threads, i had a vostro 1500 and i had paid extra for vista buisness upgrade. well i got a copy from msdnaa so i asked dell if i could get a refund on the upgrade price and downgrade to vista home basic. they said they could and issued a pickup for the COA sticker and cd's. Then they said they couldnt and canceled that but couldnt cancel the UPS pickup for it and i was told to turn the ups driver away with no package. WEll i reordered a new system and my old WHOLE laptop was to be picked up tomorrow. HOWEVER, the UPS driver came today looking for my package with the vista COA and cd's while i was gone, and asked for a package and my mom saw my laptop in the box and gave it to him!
So i called ups and they said come to the main place and pick it up between 6:30 and 9:00 and they will hold it for me. i got there at 6:30 exactly and they said it was loaded on the truck at 5:45 and it was never pulled off. WTF. They said there was nothing they could do.
SO basically my laptop is being shiped to god knows where, with only up to $100 insurance on it. I DID have the correct return # written all over the box, but it has the wrong shipping label.
I called dell buisness and they were closed, so i called dell india and they didnt exactly understand what i was saying, but they think it will go to the same place and it will be ok because it has the right number written on the sides.
Can anyone confirm this, or am i **** out of luck of 900 bucks???

dell will issue a credit for whatever they get back.. unless you are out of the 30 days i def would call dell and give them the tracking number of the box with the full system in it so they can update their systems

thanks, im going to call again tomorrow when the buisness line is open. the only thing i guess im worried about is the shipping insurance amount. if something happens to it i think im screwed.

yeah i forgot to send the ac adapter back with one of my systems.. so they sent me another label.. they just waited till they got everything back before issuing the credit.. they are pretty good as far as returns go
