Whenever I boot up my xps 1530 from hibernation or restart, there is a slight grinding noise accompanying the standard Click as my notebook starts up.

It doesnt last longer than a second, but I never heard this sound before Dell replaced my Hard-drive for me.

Does anyone know what it could be? and if it's bad?

Are you sure it isn't your dvd drive? Maybe it is doing something beyond the normal clicking when it starts up. I noticed recently that mine started making a different noise but everything still functions fine.
