I sent my 8100 inspiron in to be repaired (still under warrenty) well they claim the part I need isnt available so they are sending me another machine. Has anyone had this? How was the replacement of the one they sent, better, newer model?

Never owned a Dell, but from what I've read, you'll probably get a refurbished machine. All that means is a machine that was returned to the manufacturer and they have to fix/repair and ship it out with the original materials, just like you bought a new one. That's my guess...no promises.
