I received an estimated shipping date of august 19 for D630 latitude. I was really bummed by that since I needed it asap. So I called Dell, was given a personal dell rep, Iris. She helped me out tremendously and even gave me 1 day delivery pro bono. And best of all it was shipped on 8/7! Which is interesting because she asked me which day I would like to receive my computer and I just shot out 8/8, since I didn't think it would really make a difference on my order. What a surprise that it mattered. I have yet to receive my computer, but because Dell has shipped my order on the 7 with the estimated date being the 19, I have reason to say that Dell has exceeded my expectations and made me quite happy.

It's seem to me like Dell CSR might hold all the powers as to when we will get our systems.

LOL I'm a Dell customer service rep? I'm a researcher at NIH in Bethesda Maryland. Everything I wrote was completely true. I was just really happy with Dell. The irony is that now I'm returning my machine because the new E latitudes came out....
