The LED above the numlock key on my 1537 doesn't work. I just got a replacement hinge cover (which fix eject light issue) but not the numlock light.

Does anyone know how to locate and replace the light (I am good at soldering) and what type of LED do they use?

The Numlock LED is part of the keyboard. The hingecover only houses the tiny bar through which the LED shines. If you remove the hingecover you can see the LED directly below it. Same applies for the Caps Lock light, but the bar is on the frame that goes around the keyboard. I honestly couldn't tell you what kind of LED it is, all I know is that it is a really tiny rectangle.

    Thankyou for your reply.

Can anyone provide pictures or backup the previous post. If this is true I will ring Dell and ask for a replacement keyboard.

I disassembled it some hours ago for the 4th time totally, and yes, JohnByeBye is right, that tiny LED is not part of the hinge cover (media panel), it's party of the keyboard itself.

I removed my keyboard and the media panel earlier today to replace my old media panel. The LED is definitely on the keyboard.
