I've recieved my dell last friday. I'm using RivaTuner and it's displaying that it has GDDR3. I'm just wondering if it's the same for everyone else and if it's displaying correctly. If not, how do I check?

Search the forum... Please before you drive everyone here insane!

Also, at the end of the day believe what Dell says as they purchased the part!

There have been several threads about this, Rivatuner is made for desktop graphic cards and is incorrectly reading the notebook GPU, It is really GDDR2, the only GDD3 8600M GT is in the Macbook Pro and I believe in one of the Toshiba laptops

The 8600M GT GDDR3 is in the Apple Macbook Pro and Asus G1S. You can also get a Laptop with Quadro FX 570, which has GDDR3. The ones I know of are Thinkpad T61p and Compaq 8000w
