I have had my i9300 since September and have been playing BF2 on it from day1. Today though, for some odd reason, im debating about OCing my 6800go. I have never OCed anything before but it should be fairly easy since I have the Xtreme G drivers that have the OC utlity. Only reason I haven't done it yet thought is:
1) I bought the 3 year warranty. ( I am aware that OCing voids warranty on the video card..i think)
2) Not sure if I'll see a big performance boost (I know its possible to get a 1000 point boost in 3dmark05 scores but what about an FPS boost in BF2? I get about 50 constant with everything set on medium, no AA, @ 1440x900. )
3) I don't want to upgrade to the 7800gtx (price for the 7800gtx+9cell+130PSU doesn't seem worth it.. I would rather sell my i9300 and get the m170)
If you think it IS worth it to OC.. can you please list your clock speeds, 3dmark05 scores, maybe your FPS in bf2 (and settings), and if you were in my position would you OC![]()

I OC'ed my 6800Go...it gives you a bit more of a bump in FPS. Just make sure you read on how to do it in the gaming forum.

a bit more as in how much and which game?

it depends on how much you overclock but increasing the clock speed and memory speed will increase performance. i dunno how much you can overclock though since cooling becomes a major issue with a laptop (make sure you vent it well and get a fan or cooling pad or whatever on the desk). about the voiding the warranty, it does do that but im not sure how they can prove that you messed it up by overclocking it... who knows....
OCing the 6800go.. Should I?
