Good news: Dell has shipped my refurb D420.
Bad news: The shipper is "LTL"???!!! WTF is "LTL"? I've got a bad feeling about this ...

Where are you from? My Inspiron was shipped with Fedex when I got it, but my subsiquent warranty replacement parts have been shipped by DHL.
Never heard of LTL though. Maybe they're using new startup carriers, cause they're cheaper. Who knows.... -
Chicago. All my other shipments have come from DHL, too. I looked them up, and all I can ascertain is that it's some kind of private trucking subcontractor system. This looks ridiculous for shipping computers. I should've done my usual 2nd day delivery; took the free delivery & got "Joe's Delivery & Video"!

It could be FedEx or UPS or DHL. LTL is just "less than truckload". Dell has always used a major shipper for my computer purchases. The tracking number and carrier will probably show up on Monday.

mine was the same way. it was marked LTL when it was shipped out thursday and I still haven't seen any tracking information. i'm hoping i'll receive the same results and get more info when monday rolls around. i guess i'll just have to wait and see.

I wouldn't worry. we order million dollar shipments at a time from dell and they come by private shipping company. Everything is fully insured, and you are legally allowed to check over everything in your package and deny acceptance of it if it was damaged during shipping.

damn, people are paranoid on every level, it seems like. just wait for the tracking number and then u'll find out what kind of shipping carrier they've used for ur lap. or just call up dell and ask them....i seriously don't know why people start threads like this... no offense given.

I believe Dell uses UPS Ground Commercial as their 3-5 day service for the outlet. To go to Chicago from Austin it should take 3 days.
