Hi guys, I'm new to these forums. :)
    Ok, to the point.

I have a year old laptop Dell e.1.7.0.5. (Sorry for the periods in between).

Someone is offering me $880 for it. Let me remind you it is in EXCELLENT like-new condition. Is it worth it? Here is the spec:

Core Duo 1.83ghz (yes, "Core Duo", no number two lol)
    2gb g.skill RAM 667mhz
    60gb hdd

We have dell fans here so we should all know what this model comes with. But here is a little more info if you're not familiar.

    Windows XP Media Center
    17" antiglare screen
    GMA950 Graphics
    media direct
    5-1 media card reader
    dvd-rw
    media buttons
    DVI and VGA and s-video
    6 usb ports
    dell wifi
    56k port
    ethernet port
    1394 port
    expansion card slot?

I was planning on selling this and getting the 1420... would that be worth it? I've heard some bad things about 1420's... dell is supposedly going cheap. Compared to this e1705, it seems as though I would be disappointed in the 1420... what do you guys think??

That's a good price for it, especially for one without a dedicated card.

Do you think I'll be disappointed in the 1420? I heard they are using crappy parts (screens, keyboards, etc). I love my 1705, but I'm not sure if I should pass this opportunity up...

their keyboards are the same as whats on your 1705. they haven't changed their design on they in a little while, well the feel at least. i would go ahead and sell. you can get something better for that price and it would have a warranty again.
