So for the longest time, I have been very loyal to Apple, however recently decided, it is time to get a new laptop.

When I noticed the prices of Apple vs. Dell, I decided it was better to go with the Dell.

    I got:
    2.2 ghz core 2 duo
1 gb ram (but i will up this to 3 gb)
    120 gb sata 7200 rpm
    15.4 glossy high res 1680 x 1050
    BT
    DVD Burner
    Intel Wireless N
    256 MB Video Ram
9 Cell and 6 Cell Battery
    Brown Color

    Got it for 1500 - 500 + tax =1085 - 200 gc = 885 (if you count that)

I have one Question could someone that me if I connect this to an external monitor with the vga connector will I be able to display at 1650 x 1050?? I have it now set up to do that with my mbp with dvi connector.

So please let me know if this will work, or else I will have to cancel the system. I got a killer deal (at least i think so) but I need to be able to set up the monitor at work for the larger screen.

    Please let me know

    Thanks

Yes, but unfortunately, the 1520 doesn't have DVI, so you'll have to use VGA.

EDIT: Ah, I see you realize that. Anyway yes I believe it should work fine.

My monitor has a plug for both, however I just wanted to make sure the quality will be as good.
