Hey guys, Dell Canada doesn't ship OS cd's with their systems, but supposedly their on the hdd somewhere. Where do I look to find this? I plan on getting a Dell laptop too soon, so if I wanted to do a clean install of Vista without buying a $300 OS cd, where could I find it on the hdd? Or do I have to shell out another $300 for the OS cd.

Sorry, I'm a newb with this stuff, and if its been discussed before, again sorry.

    Thanks guys

You can ask for CDs via the online chat or something. That's what I did

The partition they give you is not just the OS, rather, it's a "Recovery Partition" that reverts the machine back to it's factory state... bloatware and all.
