I spoke with Dell this morning to see if they were going to have any kind of columbus day sale. I was trying to get a 1520 for around the price of a vostro but the best I could get was 80$ off, pathetic imo, its a 300$ difference in price for the exact same hardware!! So I told the rep I was just going to get a vostro instead and I was told I couldn't without a federal tax ID, is this true?

No. Just order it online and use your name as the business (or be creative).

I bought a Vostro and I've never heard of that.
