    Official Dell Audio driver Error - 17R SE

    When I try to official install the IDT audio driver released for my 17R SE Windows 8 Pro, it gives an error:

    "The hardware detected is not supported by this IDT software package"

    I had the same problem with the last release also. Any ideas? I have already tried uninstalling and reinstalling the audio driver and chipset drivers as per suggestions in similar threads on the internet, but it does not help.

    The 6.10.0.6426 IDT audio drivers from Dell have bad or buggy setup files as experienced by some other Dell users so use either v6.10.0.6418 or v6.10.0.6421 of the IDT audio driver. AVOID version 6426 at all costs.
