Has your battery started to have any problems?

Mine is sometimes at 0% and not charging, although this may be related to the AC power.

Also, at the BIOS, I saw that the health of the battery is low. Did any of you get a permanent failure message? It happened to me with other Dell laptops but don't know if this problem is common in the 1545 too.

Dell BIOS will say the battery will not be detected if it is completely dead. When it is about to go Dell BIOS will also give a warning.

This is not a uncommon problem in Dell's past. Best to probably go ahead(bless your heart...) and attempt to have Dell replace battery...If you investigate Dell's forums, this problem is prevalent and fairly old issue.

Laptops that lock up are due to:

    - Overheating

    - Viral infections

    - Failing hardware

Or a combination of these 3. Did you try running the Dell Diagnostic? Also try booting into a Linux Live disc and see if it locks up.

The 1545 is pretty good, the keyboard key feel is pretty good (the layout is somewhat awkward), but given the price of these machines, it does the job commendably well.

Really? I find it worse than the newer Latitude/Inspiron styled keyboards, worse than the 1525 styled keyboards because they were like the old 1520. The travel length IMO is weird, very awkward for overall use.

It is very similar to current thinkpad keyboard, so this is why i like it. I have a Latitude E6400 at home, don't really like the keyboard feel, since it is very different to my Thinkpads. Unfortunately, never used a 1525 styled keyboards, so can't really comment on that one.

Hrm well explains alot, I haven't used a new Thinkpad keyboard lol. The z61t I've been playing with, the keyboard I like. The 1545 is based off the 1525 chassis but Dell changed the keyboard.

You really don't like the E6400 keyboard? It's very similar to every single Latitude keyboard, like my Latitude 13, the E6410, E6500/E6510. It's a short travel length, kinda squishy.

I have had a few Latitudes over the years, but i don't really like the keyboard. I guess one gets use to them if they are constantly using them, but i have been using thinkpads as a main work horse for the last 8 years. I guess it is more of an acquired taste.

    Hi there!
Do you guys know if there is any email address to sent directly complaints to Dell?

I've been waiting twice to receive an online poll about my satisfaction with Dell Customer Service. Seems that they know how would I rate them and haven't sent anything.

    Hi guys!
I've had this laptop for a while now (almost 2 years) and am very happy with it!
Recently I've been doing some upgrades to it and thought you might like to know:
    1. Changed cpu from Pentium dual core T4300 @2.1 Ghz to Core 2 Duo T9400 @2.53Ghz.
    2. Overclocked Ati Mobility Radeon HD 4330 from 450Mhz (Core) to 800mhz and 500Mhz to 620Mhz (Memory). Reason why memory is lower is because I can't go over 625 without starting to see artifacting, and I also have no idea why I can overclock the Core so high without any problems. I only keep it overclocked for gaming though so it still keeps normal battery life, not that I care too much about that.
I am also looking at trying an EGPU after Christmas and am getting a nice 21.5in Samsung Screen for it aswell.

Has anyone else tried overclocking CPU as I might try that next and if anyone else has tried any other upgrades then I would be happy to know.
    Thanks!

Recently sold mine. Was a great machine 3 years ago but the Core 2 duo just didn't cut it anymore.
