How, what kind of stuff should I have to get to enable bluetooth capability on the Inspiron 700m? All I know is it need a plug-in card that resembles a flash memory type. Any recommended maker of such? Do I need their drivers to input?( Remember, I have a mac backgrd and all of the above are built-into the Pwrbooks.)

I want to use a bluetooth mouse with my Dell.

    Any advice? Please enlighten me.
    Much thanks.

    Hi Mac,
I think if you go to compusa, bestbuy or go online you can find a bluetooth card for your notebook. They are in both the pcmcia card format as well as USB. The USB ones look like a thumb drive. If you use XP, then there should not be any drivers needed. You also might be able to find a bluetooth mouse that has the card/adapter bundled with it.

Getting the BT via a USB key is possibly best for you. I do not see getting a PC card with BT is a very good idea since the PC car slot cna be used for something else. What? I have no idea really, because everyting can be built into the computer now.

    Dear bootleg2go & d-roC:

Much to think about. Maybe I am missing something on the 700m's specs. Bluetooth is not really important - more of a convenience. For my Pwrbook/Apple, I use bluetooth as a backup with my Nokia bluetooth cellular if Airport wifi is not reliable. I hoped that I could use that type of arrangement with the Dell. Maybe the PC card slot should be regulated for such a set-up which is now my main goal.

You both recommended the USB ports option for bluetooth. Done. Will concentrate on the card now and what goes with AT&T's specs with a well-used Nokia 3650 (Soon to be a Tre0600(GSM) model.
    Much thanks again!
    Sincerely,
    macmac

Just as you know, the Treo600 does not have BT. You will have to wait until around Oct. for a Treo with BT. Maybe even longer to have one offered by At&T.

    Dear d-roC,

Good thing I returned! I would have placed an order and would have tied up some of my card's limit. I 'll wait.

    Thanks!

    Dear d-roC,

Update to Treo purchase. Lucky I read your post. The new Treo 650 will soon be released as you said. Read a post on the Gizmodo site and there was a picture of it!

    Thanks for the tip.
    Sincerely,
