    Not much of a difference in heat, GDDR3 is DDR2 at lower voltage than can support higher frequencies.

    It's siginificantly better at a resolution higher than 1280x800

    gDDR3 can actually run cooler compared to GDDR2 version due to better memory design. It depends on the notebook's cooling design to ensure lower temperatures.

    To give you a rough estimate, Asus G1s which is based on GDDR3 version of the card averages 70C on average gaming use and can increase as high as 80C.
