As you may know from all my posts, I got a replacement for my old e1505. Since basically every component on my replacement was diff from the first; I thought I might compare them. here goes

    The screen: LG vs. Samsung
The answer here's pretty obvious. I was fine with the old screen, but in a head 2 head, the lg just blows the samsung away. Its a lot darker on blacks and there's even lighting (cept for the minimal leakage at the bottom)

    The HD: Seagate vs. Hitachi
Once again, another obvious winner. Hitachis are supposed to be better performers but the noise was to much. Every little thing caused it to chirp. annoyed the **** out of me, and this was the main reason I reordered. I can't even hear the seagate, and it sure as hell ain't slower.

    The Ram: ??? vs???
I got some wierd-ass ram brands, but the new laptop is performing faster. Compared both before the reformat and the second one was faster. Dont know why, don't know how. w/e

The dvd drive: NEC vs. Sony
Really wasn't a difference here. The sony was kind of flimsy, so I decided to keep the nec on the first laptop; it was an easy swap. Either of these two brands would prob be fine, but I've heard bad things about tha ttssst or w/e.

That's about it. overall, the replacement is way better than the first. This laptop should keep me happy for at leas the next couple of weeks, till a newer better cheaper one comes out to make me mad. Seriously though, the build quality is pretty good and dell's been great and pretty prompt in helping me. Maybe cuz I was still in the 21-day return period, but not sure about that. Hope this helped someone...
