    Greetings,

I went through the same situation as you, and after a lot of talking, catting and mailing with dell reps I can tell you this.

If you get the 2 year ltd hardware warranty or LESS time, you will NOT be able to use that warranty outside the country you bought it.

But if you get the 3 year ltd hardware warranty or MORE, you CAN use your warranty outside the US (i know it sounds fishy, but believe me that i talked several times with the sales people, not believeing them i called them again and spoke with another one and i got always the same response).

Also remember that if someone else was the owner in malaysia and now you are going to be the new owner in India then you need to make an international transfer of ownership/warranty following this link:
    http://support.dell.com/support/top...ansfer_form1?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&redirect=1

Hope that I was of any help
    Greetings!

    pd: I oficially welcome myself to the forums :D :D :D :D :D hahaha

So, Its better to have a fresh buy in someone's name in a foreign country and then ship it through friends and then transfer ownership to ur name in ur country.

Will it be absolutely safe and FREE ?

I believe you also need to make sure you buy the onsite warranty, not RTB.
