On the 6000 - does WSXGA+ "look" better than WXGA?

After looking at the WXGA screen on the 6000, I was not impressed. I can't quite put my finger on why I didn't like it, but I didn't. Compared to my 19" external LCD monitor (a Sony 1280x1024), it just looked kinda dull. I can stare at my external monitor all day long (and I do), but I couldn't look at the 6000's WXGA screen for too long without getting a headache.

Is it just me? Or is there something "not right" about the 6000's WXGA screen?

Anyway, here's my question: will the WSXGA+ screen look better on the 6000? Is it a better "quality" screen? Or does it simply have higher resolution?

    Anybody know??

the wxga on the 6000 (which i have) is not stunning, however it gets the job done with flying colors. I am a gamer and I do lots of school work on my laptop, and it does them perfectly, and from a visual standpoint the wxga (i happen to like the 1280 x 800 resolution) gets all the colors and brightness right, as long as its angled the right way.

The wuxga is technically speaking the same exact screen, except with a higher resolution. Some will tell you that there is a difference, but they are probably basing their decision on whether or not a higher resolution looks better or not.

This isnt really good advice, but since it seems you are okay with the resolution that you have, your just going to have to get over the fact that the screen is mediocre.

HOWEVER: there are things you can do to change your visual experience, if you have the ATI x300 card, go into your setup/properties on your display and fiddle around with the contrast,brightness,color,etc... There are literally limitless ways you can configure your colors with those options.

    good luck!

I think that's part of the problem. It has to be angled JUST right. If I move my chair, or head, or sneeze :) it looks like crap.

Hmmmm... I didn't know about that. Thanks.

Any particular settings you think might help make it look better?

I am a little confused about the WXGA and WSXGA. If the resolution proves to be a problem, can't the person simply lower the resolution, or does this defeat the purpose of purchasing a higher resolution?
