I have been going back and forth between a multitude of laptops for a couple of months now. The Dell i6000d being one of them. The only two things that worry me about the Dell are:

    1. The size
--I was looking for something more portable/light as I will be traveling with it 5 days a week on a train to/from work and I worry that it may be too big for me to comfortably use in the confined seat space; think airline seats.

    2. The screen
--The WSXGA+ may be too small for my eyes and I heard negative things about the WXGA, plus no "glossy" coat.

Now, that this coupon is here, I can get a Dell for around $900, almost $600 less than the other laptop I was looking at, Sony s360. However, my concerns still remain.

Should I get the Dell to try out? I can always return it. Dell's return policy is 21 days and the only cost to me would be the cost to ship it back.

I thought there was a 15% restocking fee with Dell? Maybe I'm wrong on that though. Either way, I think the i6000 is too big to take on a train and you'd be unhappy with a laptop of that size and weight. Personally I think 14-inch screen or smaller is perfect for using on things such as trains. The VAIO S360, Fujitsu S6231 or IBM ThinkPad T43 are all worth a good look...but they are more expensive than a Dell I know. The HP DV1000 might even interest you, it's got a 14-inch widescreen and some nice multimedia features and a glossy screen.

Well, a moot point now that the coupon has expired. Back to the Sony s360, Fujitsu s6231 or Compaq v2000... lol. Thanks for your replies though!
