I'm in the same boat as you XxXKul... my midnight blue went into shipping stage then they gave me the 8/23 delay. I complained and they said all they could suggest is to cancel and reorder with black which has no delays. aghh... I've waited too long for this laptop.... I want it now!

I'm waiting on a ruby red one too. I've had to stop myself a few times from cancelling and reordering in black. I am determined to stick it out, but I also have a time limit and need to have lappy in hand no later than mid sept. for college; preferably by last week...

I wonder if Dell needs a hand with spray painting, hell I could prolly do at least 100 a day in the same color, so if we get a different person for each color, Dell might finally catch up. lol.

just so you know, the black one really does ship faster.

my friend ordered a black 1420 last week (vista premium, 2.2 intel core 2 duo, 2 gb ram, 160 hard drive, bluetooth, webcam) and she just got hers today.

i ordered a white one yesterday, and heres to hoping mine is just as fast!

Not so sure about that, I also have a black 1420 ordered and it's stuck in build. Honestly, I think the COLORS are shipping out faster now, at least the blue ones. Actually I'm pretty angry because blue was my first choice, but the delays were ugly and I thought that I could get black sooner... boy was I wrong and the opposite seems to be true.

I'm just going to stop calling to check on my order status, and hopefully some day soon when I come home from work there'll be a nice sexy ruby red lappy waiting for me!! I ordered 7/19 and have been in the build stage ever since.

After calling CS yesterday to find out what was holding up my order (as if I didn't know) and then having them tell me that it would be delayed until Sept. 10th, I decided to switch to black as well.

I made a thread about this, but thought I'd add my comment here too. I too switched my colored lid to black, hoping it would come much faster. Today (like most days LOL) I went to dell.com to "build" my lappy and now black is delayed (on the 1420s at least) LOL!! Red white and blue now have no delays. I too wanted a blue, but forget it, I'm not doing another cancellation/reorder.
I just want my laptop already!!!
