Picked up a M1530 in Dec.

1280 x 800 crap screen. Trying to get an LG. Just received a CPT. Going right back to try again.

Picked up another M1530 last week. 1440 x 900 LG. Very, very nice. Especially when compared to the first M1530. Prefer this resolution much better, too. For pics, reference this guy's thread. Has same laptops/resolutions as I do...

Anyway, with my new M1530 w/LG screen I figure all's well. Everything works fine. No loose parts/damage.

    NOPE.

Don't know if anyone has this problem, but check out the difference in color between my 2 M1530's lids...

Sorry about the blurriness, but that doesn't even matter in this case.

Now I don't know about you, but my new lid looks like crap. Damned two-toned and not even red.

Have a replacement lid on the way...hopefully. Had to go 'round and 'round with the "expert" XPS techs just to get my point across of what was wrong. Showed me a part description. Asked ME 3 times if that was what I needed.

    WTF?

Not like I have a parts breakdown of the M1530 in front of me.

We'll see how long it takes to get both laptops corrected- just to get them way they should have been in the FIRST place.

Clearly a major difference in color.

As the pic isn't the best, the left M1530 is a bright and UNIFORM red. The right one is a TWO TONED dark red trim/purple middle.

    Fugly special edition?

    Ah, no thanks.

I currently have 2 M1330 that have the same problem but not as bad. I sending them back when I get the third comes in.

Tech came today with the replacement lid in tow. Matches my first M1530 to a T.

Took about 25 minutes to remove and install. No damages. Standing 3 feet across, watching every detail, might have helped in that regard.

One problem down...2 more to go.

    Keyboard bulge...
