One very short-lived 1420 Order...

Well, I'm disappointed. I ordered a 1420 through my EPP about an hour ago and was really happy with the specs/price, etc. On Dell's website, it showed an estimated shipping date of July 13. Since I am going out of the country for a long trip on July 19, I went ahead and paid for the overnight shipping to make sure that I got the laptop before leaving. When I got my order confirmation, though, it had a shipping date of July 24. I called EPP and was told that "absolutely no expedited orders can be processed for the 1420" and "I can promise that your laptop will not ship before the 24th" and though I complained about the disparity between what the website said and what the confirmation said, there wasn't anything they could do about it...so I had to cancel my order. Damn.

If I wasn't going out of town, it wouldn't have been as big of a deal - but I absolutely need a laptop for this trip. C'est la vie. Back to the Leveno/HP 14" model comparisons.

Hmmm, that sounds a bit odd. I don't believe the rep was accurate. i believe it's better for you to try again? It's worth a shot.
