Just received my Vostro today, and I don't notice any graininess luckily, but I find the viewing angles to be poor. Any movement of the head results in dramatic lighting changes. Over all, I'm okay with it I guess, but I wonder about that 60Hz refresh. Why can't it go higher? Maybe it's the stock drivers?

Also, are the viwing angles better on the LG or Chei mei?

All laptop monitors have a 60 Hz refresh rate.

    Thanks.

Hmmm, the viewing angle isn't bad like I thought. It's nothing special, but it's acceptable. What I don't understand though is why I can't install nvidia drivers on the laptop. Supposedly I'm supposed to get the drivers from Dell. Am I missing something?

Lithus, my 4 years old Toshiba Tecra M2 runs at 100 Hz refresh rate for the monitor. My XPS M1503 though ...just at 60 Hz.

Fine. Most laptops have a 60 Hz refresh rate.
