Not amused. Ordered from Dell a specific refurbished Inspiron 1012 on 20th May expecting that since it was physically a particular box which had been refurbished, it would therefore be shipped straight away. After all, you don't set out to build a refurbished box from scratch do you ? Otherwise it would have been advertised as 'About to be refurbished' or 'Needs us to refurbish it before we send it to you'. But no, it's 'refurbished'. So why not just send it ? Following email ping pong with CS and a so-called escalation, I then get a notification : "We appreciate that you may have been waiting a long time for your order - and so will do our very best to beat the updated Estimated Delivery Date." So, you think - good news eh ? Until you see that the Estimated Delivery Date has actually been put BACK 4 days !

I used to be a fan of Dell but after this experience I'll go elsewhere in future. Try refurbishing Dell Customer Service. Let this tale be a warning to anyone thinking of buying a Dell refurb.

    Too funny ! :D

Anyway here's probably the short answer. Every refurbed system that leaves their plant gets tested etc before they send it out. I think something happened to your laptop before it was ready to be shipped out. So either they are waiting for an identical returned unit with your specs to arrive that they can give you OR your laptop is being repaired or waiting for a part.

    Just a guess. :p
