    Hi all,

I can't seem to get an updated driver to work with my 1710. I've rebuilt with XP and having no problems with any other device. I can use the Dell Driver for the 7950 with no problems but it's almost 8 months old.

I've read alot about laptopvideo2go's modded inf files for using with this card but I can't get the ones I've tried to work, they all blue screen. So far I've tried 3 different ones - 163.14, 163.15 and 165.01.

Can anyone with similar hardware suggest a different method or alternative driver that's worked for them? Would be very grateful!

As an aside, if Dell won't let people install native Nvidia drivers, why have they left us with such an old driver for use on their 'premium' gaming laptop?! Makes no sense to me at all!

    Cheers,

    J.

It is the same with my 7900GS on my laptop. I can only use Dell branded drivers otherwise I end up with a blue screen either during bootup or in the middle of one of my games. I managed to find 94.22 laptop drivers that were released by Dell for my card on laptopvideo2go.com but those drivers are not actually listed on Dell's website. It may be worth it to go back for a second look and check for any Dell OEM drivers listed there. They will list which OEM released that particular drivers version. Not all of the drivers there are modded.

94.22 is the version I have, and I downloaded it from the Dell site. It says they're from February which is way old. I might try this dedicated XPS help line, if nothing just to register my thinking they should update it! :)
