Thats a nice case and good WEI score, and the (P)review of the M1330 on this site had internal pics too.

so based on the internal pic (specifically the 5th one) it looks like you can change both RAM modules without having to go through the keyboard like the d630

can anyone confirm if this is true (dual memory slot expansion access from the rear)?

the vista score isn't that good...at least the aero desktop performance is pretty low!

I'm actually really disappointed by the Vista score. That thing is running a T7700, and its that low? An Asus with a T7500, 2 gb ram, and 8600m gt gets a score of 4.7-4.8. I guess the gpu makes a big difference.

I wouldn't worry about it TOO much. It's only one test and Vista's scores could change (depending on the laptop config). Now if several people reported numbers around that area, I would be a little worried...

... but for me, I'm just happy to get a laptop that won't take 8 minutes to start (I'm not kidding... EIGHT minutes ... and yes... i've reinstalled XP -- I think its something wrong with the Gateway).

Here is my question if anyone can help - can I put the WWAN module from the xps 1210 into this machine and is the antenna for that preinstalled. Also is the hard drive user replacable?

Obviously. The WEI is the lowest of all the scores so you can see that the graphics is what's dragging it down. RAM, CPU and hard drive are all quite good otherwise.

I would think there is a good chance that the antenna would be pre-installed. Otherwise it will make Dell's logistics more complicated since they would need to stock each display type both with and without the antenna. But we can't be sure until these systems reach end users.

I'm sure the HDD can be easily changed. Look at the bottom right part of the bottom photo in the first post and you will see 4 screws with cylindrical symbols. I think that if those are removed then the HDD (in some sort of caddy) pulls out of the side. However, it remains to be seen whether there are any Dell partitions on the disk which are not easy to copy.

    Regarding the sleeve, http://benyouhui.it168.com/thread-547933-1-1.html

After reading the information on this link

the caption says that the sleeves does come with the laptop. I dont know if its true only for the Asian market or if its world wide.

*the article also mentions that on the m1330, the 8400M's performance is about 30% higher than the version with X3100
