Just checked my order status,I'm more than excited to see it's been updated.Detail see as below:

Oh my goodness,after about 10 days' waiting,finally my 1705 is coming to me tomorrow!I've been thinking and dreaming about it all these days...its estimated ship date was set to 18th at first then quickly passed the making procedure and finally it comes 6 days earlier than its due.Can't wait to see it tomorrow!

 

I ordered on August 31, my original delivery date was Sept 22.. Then I called them to get my shipping upgraded to overnight for free so the delivery date got moved up to Sept 11. Yesterday they gave me a tracking number and the delivery date is Sept 12. Looks like alot of people are getting their dells tomorrow

 

ya i should be getting mine tomorrow too...im in canada so we use purolator and last i checked was yesterday and they said it was in Calgary AB, and it takes 2 days from AB to BC...so ya im so excited too!

 

I ordered it at 9/2.the order status still shows that the delievery date is 13th-15th,but the FedEx track record shows it will come up tomorrow,holy smoke!

Ordered the 7th (last Thursday) and it was just shipped today, arrives Thursday the 14th. 7 days turn around including a weekend in that 7 day period. Dell rocks.

I ordered mine on the 4th and it still says the 21st as the ship date.

 

Ordered mine 8/30 on 9/9 said it shipped delivery is tomorrow 9/12 originally it was 9/17 this is good as my main desktop p4 2.8 Ghz died couple days after ordering fired up an old p3 1Ghz and that won fried last night when a fan clip broke so nice to wake up to that this AM

 

it seems like they got a new shipment of Core2duo chips.
i ordered early this morning (9/11 3AM),
it is already in the testing phase after 12 hours.

i hope it doesn't get stuck in testing or boxing phase.

It'll deffinatly get stuck in boxing for a bit. What dell doesn't tell you about the "boxing" stage is that they box it up and ship it from malaysia, I think that's why I was able to get my order out to me so quickly.

 

now 18 hours after ordering, it is in boxing stage..
i am begging dell to get it into a ship right now! (or on a plane)

by the way, if they come from malysia via ship,
wouldn't it take really long time to get to US?
(maybe im wrong but couple weeks?)

Yea, it doesn't actually go on a boat .. I see my wording is really poor. It is sent from Malaysia durring the boxing stage tho.

I ordered mine on the 6th sept. Mine is still in processing. At least you guys have laptops that are moving through the system. I got ahold of my sales agent, and she told me today that it was just sitting there. the computer system had not processed it (verified it) and it was going no where. So she "expedited it" (does not mean fast btw) to a real live person for review and final processing. $hit 6 days....and they can't figure out how to take my money....unbelievable. It was done through an already set up dell financing so there should have been NO issues with an existing customer with an existing line of credit.

Anyhow, it simply sucks because naturally I am about as immpatient as they get, now having to wait for something that really get's exciting is killing me.

So I do have one question. All you guys have been saying that you are phoning to get free next day shipping. Yet no one has said how they do it. I doubt you guys just phoned up and asked......so what did you complain about?

Spill guys....I wanna see if I can get it....!!!!

I do live in Canada if that makes or breaks that.....

I've been waiting for a week to get this thing even built and all I got was a
"rush" put on it. I want to see if I can get the shipping bumped up as well.

Well my original delivery date was Friday September 22. I'm actually leaving on Sept 22 to go back to school (which starts on the monday after). So I called them up and said I was really worried that I wouldn't get the laptop at all. The guy was like, so do you want to cancel your order then? And I told him no I don't want to cancel it if there's a way that it can get to me faster. I told him I would have selected next business day delivery originally if it had been in my budget. So he thinks it over and puts me on hold to talk to his "manager." Comes back and tells me he'll upgrade the shipping for free. You gotta be polite and it depends on which salesperson you get.. I've heard that some won't budge at all.

 

just called Dell...apparently in Canada Dell has never heard of next business day shipping......*sigh*

Obviously Dell was able to hire the cream off the customer service crop

I just called Dell Canada and the rep said there was a backorder on all chassis in all Inspirion including XPS models. My production date was said to be Sept. 7 but in fact it actually started today. Mine should be shipped this thursday and will receive it next week.

My 9400 C2D that I ordered on Sept. 8 has been shipped so maybe things are starting to move. Estimated delivery date is sept. 19. Btw, I'm in Canada.

Mine was supposed to come on the 18th (like everyone else here), instead they said the 12th (today). Awesome, right? So I get home and....no computer. I check my order status with Purolator and it's still in the US. ****! I'll have to wait it out a little longer...probably until the 15th or so.

ummm...maybe i might, i dont know, it seems like a really long process but if i dont have anything to do and i have time to spare then after about maybe at least 2 weeks or so sure ill write a review

 

Dell Canada says that my order is in Processing. Since I ordered on the 6th I found that a touch disturbing. I phoned Dell today and the rep told me my Lappy is in post production phase (I assume testing) So it should ship in the next day or 2.

Anyhow have any rough guesses how long it takes dell to get a lappy to someone in Canada from texas? weeks...days....???

however i ordered monitor too but its not shipping.
in fact its still in pre production..

Go to your Dell order status page and near the bottom there should a link to your carrier details. My order is shipping with Purolator too, so I check it every day or so. Still waiting....

 

if my laptop shipped today, is it moving during the weekend aswell? like would it be 3 days faster than if it had shipped on monday, or just 1 day faster?
