    Hello,

I am curious if any of you own or have played with the D520. The D620 is abit out of my price range, and I'm hoping to get a laptop with a fairly good build quality. I'm a tad nervous about the inspiron e1405, but all the features that come with it makes it seem like quite a good deal. Is the D520 even worth considering?

IMO the Inspirons are a better deal, they have more features for a lower price. On the latitudes you have to add like $100 extra for the d-bay DVD burner, a CD-ROM is standard, and a lot of the upgrades and stuff are more expensive then they would be on the Inspirons. The old x10 Latitudes were a good deal since they had a 3 year warranty standard.

From what ive read, the screens arent as nice, and the audio isnt as good as the inspiron series.

yeah, it really depends on what you do, I like the Matte screen but I also like really high res screens (the D820 has a 1920x1200 matte) so if you like a matte screen go latitude, and I usually use external speakers (with a sub) or headphones so I dont care about really nice sound built in. So if you plan on using this for mobile multimedia then go with the inspirons, but if you (like me) really just watch movies at home, then maybe go latitude if you can afford it because they also have a higher level build quality
