Does anybody else's 9300 spin its optical drive nonstop while on battery? It doesn't do this on AC. I have to open the drive to stop it and I'm sure I'm taking a hit on battery life. I'm using the AO5 bios but I think it did this with the AO4 bios too. (There has to be a disk in the drive for it to do it, of course.)

sure it does it with every disk? is it a disk that the syatem is unable to read?
stiil, that doesn't explain the battery/AC thing......install cd-drive drivers agin....these sony drives on 9300 act real strange, going by the reports, though mine is all well so far! touch wood. -
Yeah, any disc. Music and Data and Video. And it works fine in all other respects.

Actually, I read this and immediately noticed a loud humming noice. I took Battlefield 2 out and realized that it was indeed the drive that was making the noises. I usually wear headphones, so I never really noticed it before.
