    Optical Drive noise in Studio 1558?

    Hi,

    I got my Studio 15 notebook yesterday.

    Whenever I power on my notebook. I hear one sound twice for a second. There after on 'Dell' screen I hear it once again just before Windows 7 startup screen appears. I think it's from slot optical drive.
    Am I correct?

    I have never used a notebook before. So kindly tell me is this normal ? Do optical drives in notebooks make such sounds at startup as well as more noise while using (compared to desktops) ?

    This is normal behavior of slot load dvd drive. It make more noise in the comparison of tray load dvd drive.

    Just to add that my model is Studio 1558 with i5 - 540M?

    Anyone using 1558 would you Pl. tell me whether you get Optical drive sound which I mentioned at the the time of power on?
