    SNO is a Sony drive.

NEC also makes drives with SNO in their model number. I'm a tad worried. I havn't gotten my notebook yet, but... I got the:

    1 313-5820 8X DVD+/-RW Slot Load Drive for XPSM1530

Could it be... the loud one? X_X

on their order details without SNO and have a perfectly fine quiet slot loading drive?

Idk, I originally had a Panasonic coming, Dell pulled a switcheroo on me, and sent me the SNO, which after a nice chat with the cool XPS CS, I found out was the Sony NEC Optiarc drive, the same noisy drive I have in my computer. He understood that I wasn't going to risk a tech tearing apart my computer to replace something with the exact same part, and so he told me to ship it back, gave me a case number, and they'll send a Panasonic if I want.
I'm still debating, b/c while my drive is noisy, it doesn't have any read/write problems, doesn't appear to have touching parts (as some people have commented) and is overall ok, just REALLY noisy at certain times.
