Orange LED for dell latitude d620

hello all,

i have bought a new dell laptop latitude D620, recently i found an orange battery led light blinking three times and than green light and again the same
way.

this is not going even is use a power oulet or remove the power oulet, can anyone tell me exactly why this is happening. even if i rest it for a while and switch on still this light is blinking The same way three times orange and one time green.

The same issue is happening to me started about a hour ago on my Dell Latitude D420. I think I am going to call Dell tomorrow. What happened and what did you do with the issue?

 

Hello folks.
Did you had this problem fixed. My Laptop D610 bettery has similar problem today. While Power cable connected, It blicks green once and orange 3 times. Please let me know what you guys did.

Same problem.
Reading Dell user manual i found:

"battery led blinking orange and green may mean battery is to hot for charging, turn off your computer and wait till it is cold enough"

But in my case, it was because battery wasn't well connected. Just removing and connecting it again resolved the issue.

 

It is usually due to the battery being defective or just past its lifespan (of charge and recharge cycles).
