I just got off the phone with Dell, after talking with 2 different reps. I was told that my order was cancelled. They put me through to the rep that was supposed to tell me exactly why my order was cancelled, but all I got was his voice mail. I am very pissed about this. I need this notebook for school which already started! I was informed a couple of days ago that my notebook WOULD be built and shipped today and expected to reach me in under a week.

Did this happen to anybody else? Know a reason why?

The order is from Canada by the way.

were you mean on the phone? maybe they got pissed that you kept asking where your order is and just cancelled your order.

Dell systems can sometimes cancel a system, and then place a new order for the identical configuration immediately after. That way, it doesn't look like an order had been on hold for four or five weeks...just looks like one or two that way.

I don't know who (or what) is responsible for this behavior though...it happened to me once when I ordered my M140 notebook.

Give em a call...but be nice. Just leave it at "if this doesn't go through soon, I'll have to go elsewhere."

When did you place the order?
I'm really sorry to hear about this though... :(

I orderd it on the 5th of this month. And I called nicely when I call, I don't call all angry demanding everything. But yes. I hope it's just them re-ordering it. But I was told by a rep that she took it off hold for me a couple of days ago and she put a rush on it. And that I should call on the 12th (today) and check the status. So, I did and I'm told it's cancelled.

i'd call back to that same rep and try to get an explanation. the best thing that I can suggest is see if they could put a rush and upgrade to next day shipping for free.

even then, if you can't stand not having a notebook even for a little while on campus...consider going to a brick and mortar store to buy a notebook. while it might not be EXACTLY what you want, you would have it in your hands for classes...

depends on the reason you ordered the M1210...for work or play?

Okay....it WAS just them cancelling and re-ordering as you said.
    Whew...that's a load off.

seriously though, they need to upgrade the shipping since you are now at the back of the line again for getting the notebook.

while some users are reporting delays, they seem to be only because of 7200rpm drives...did Dell give you any reason for the delay?

I think the delay was because I orderd it with a Core 2 Duo. And I'm not sure if there's much I can do now. They said it was in production.

Yes! THATS EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED TO MINE. If you recall my rant earlier, my case was because they couldn't verify with my credit card company. Stupid Dell... pissing off another customer. Oh well, now that I got a new order #, basically my order was delayed for basically a week... :( Gotta live with it ya know!

I suggest you not to complain here, or you'll get a red card like me :(

dell's order page tells you that if you pay with a credit/debit card, that your order may be cancelled.
