I recently placed an order online through Dell Outlet for an XPS M1210. After placing the order, I received an email which said my order was received, and that my confirmation number, order number, shipping details and final cost would be emailed to me soon. I am still waiting for that information.

When I check online, under the account I ordered the comupter under, Dell's website shows I have no orders. Searching for orders turns up nothing. I also have not received my email detailing the above information, and it seems I need an order number to even contact Dell customer support about orders (which I don't have; it was not sent). An order number is required to use nearly all the online forms as well as the phone services listed on the website. Is there something wrong here? If so, what should I do? I've sent an email to Dell through the only customer support form online that did not require an order number.

Am I screwed? Or is this somewhat normal?

Call Dell and ask for support. I haven't ordered from the Outlet, but if it's anything like ordering from AAFES (the military exchange store) then that order number doesn't correspond to anything on the Dell site.

This happens. Call them and get an order #.

Thank you for your responses. Which number should I call? I've looked under the customer support webpage, and the numbers I see there that I would like to call (automated order status, general customer service questions, XPS customer support) all state that you need an order number, or should have it ready. Since I don't have an order number, I have a problem.

I will try calling a Dell number anyone suggests in the morning.

Call any Dell number to place an order and ask for assistance.

This is normal. It usually takes a day or two for the order to show up on your account. This happened to me.

I'd call and find out. I order a ton of stuff from the outlet, and almost always get both emails (acknowledgement and confirmation) the same day, usually within an hour.

Any longer, and your Outlet system is probably now in someone else's cart!!
