I just ordered the m1710 yesterday 6pm EST. Can anyone share thier "from order" to "Shipped" experience? How long did each phase take? A collegue of mine ordered the exact config on monday, 4/24 at 7pm, and it was at boxing by wed 4/26. Are things moving swiftly for everyone or has anyone experienced a lag?

Very excited about this beast, I want it asap! hehe :p

I feel your pain my friend. I just ordered my new e1505 on the 26th, and am now in the boxing stage, Eagerly awaiting its arrival. Usuall it takes about 6-8 days from time of order to you recieving it.

I ordered Monday and it's still in testing. They said the estimated ship date is 5/4. If the "Boxing" phase take 3 days and another 2 days I can receive it...OMG, total days is 15 days!

dont be suprised it is in UPS hands now
    That "can" happen

Dell doesnt update their website, and it could already be somewhere else

i would call and ask/complain about it, before the weekend begins

well of course i just got the usual cat and mouse that i have seen reported at Dell....no one has any idea....."well your system just came out and it's such a powerful system, it should get to you a couple days before your ship date"

    whatever!!!

You should definetly be demanding upgraded shipping and some money off/free accesories. A week in testing is BS.

I was told the biggest delay is if you want 4 GB Ram. That would make a 30 day delay. Otherwise the 7900 GTX causes a lesser delay, but still a delay. The last laptop I got from Dell said Made in Ireland! Not Malaysia like normal.

Mine shipped the day it went into boxing and I had it the next day even with ground shipping. The 3 day delay was in getting from the Testing phase to the boxing phase. If you just made it into boxing today and chose next day delivery don't be suprised if you have it monday or tuesday.

I ordered my M1710 on the 18th of April. The est ship date it gave me was May 11th. I did order a 7900GTX. It went into testing around the weekend of 22nd-23rd and finished testing around Sunday/Monday. Boxing and shipping prep were kind of blurred and it arrived in the US and to the regiional distribution point (Nevada I guess) around Thursday. It's already here in Phoenix waiting to be delievered on Monday. Too bad no Saturday pickup...
