    Order stuck on Acknowledge

    Hey guys.

    Got a problem and since Dell wasn't much help, I thought I would try here.

    I placed an order yesterday afternoon and paid with a brand new Dell account I just got moments before I placed the order.

    Since about yesterday afternoon my order is just stuck on "Acknowledged." I have not gotten a second email with a Order number or anything. I tried to call and ask what's going on but they could not pull up my order and said I have to wait 24 hours for the order number to be generated or just place a new order. I can't do the latter yet because I had a coupon I used that now shows as redeemed.

    I can't understand why it's taking so long for the order to update. Lot of good next day shipping is doing me!

    I appreciate any info or what i can do in this matter.

    Also, is it possible to call Dell for help and not be...how shall I say...outsourced?

    Unfortunately, Dell moved their support to india in about 2002. I don't know of a way to get to Dell support without being outsourced. If you find one, let me know too! :)

    You need to call in the MORNING to get Dell in the States ;)

    What do you guys have against outsourced support? They have exactly the same resources at their disposal as domestic support. If you can't understand them, then you need to listen harder.

    There are more english speaking indians than there are americans.

    Ease up on the impatience. Your laptop will get here when it gets here. You just ordered it, sit back and RELAX. That's what you can do.

    Classic case of "are we there yet" syndrome.

    Also keep in mind that you are on pacific time, and that your yesterday afternoon may have been after Dell's normal business hours, in which case the order would not go through until this morning. Since you called at 9 PST, which is before dell's regular business hours, the order was still probably waiting to go through. Once again, patience is a virtue.

    It isn't a system by the way. The order never went through, they are having to process it through now.

    It's always something. Glad my friend works at Dell who could get the ball rolling kinda.

    Hey this happened to me to. Before when I ordered from DELL the second email came almost instnat. Well with kids going back to school, everyone is pushing their systems and they manually OK each order... so it will just take a few days (I called a rep and they told me this too.) So this time, when I ordered my D430 a month ago i ordered it on Wed, and I didn't get the 2nd email till the following Monday.

    it'll come.

    My item is on the way now. I had 3 orders going at one point. Looong story. :)

    I can't wait. 24 inch widescreen LCD! 30th Birthday Present from my fiancee. :)
