Hey guys, I ordered my Vostro 1500 on 1/30 and I have an estimated ship date of 2/06? Based on past experience, when do you guys expect this will really ship? Does Dell usually wait until the estimated date to ship, or are they usually ahead of schedule?
I actually originally ordered my system on 1/29, but I revised/updated the order on 1/30. It went to the production stage on 1/30 and is still there. How long is the production stage normally?
I know this sounds weird, but this is my first notebook and I have the patience of a 5 year old right now. LOL! Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

1 week is very fast for a ship date.

Personally, mine took exactly one week. This thread should help:

Mine will take (fingers crossed) 8 days from order to deliver. (it's actually an hour away from me now, where it will be til Monday!)
800-433-9014 will give you a bit more detailed info as to where it's at in the Production stage. -
Isn't that a long time to "box" something? Will it really be in the "Boxing" stage for that long? One last question....do they work on weekends? Thanks! -
Lol, maybe they can't find a box for you.

No problem. Glad to hear you're up to Boxing!
Yeah dude, I think they work on weekends, but likely yours is waiting to be shipped from Malaysia to the US, assuming that's where you're located.
It shouldn't be much longer. They won't update the Estimated Shipping Date until it's actually marked Shipped, most likely and then it will probably go to NAs. You should get a tracking number bout 2 hours after it's marked "Shipped" on the Dell site. Good luck! -
*Sigh*, why hasn't mine gone to boxing yet then?

That is certainly a possibility. I would guess it would get marked Shipped on Monday or Tuesday, possibly before. The key is when DHL actually receives it. It took over a day from when mine was marked Shipped to when DHL actually had the package in hand. (according to tracking)
Ordered 1/30, estimated 2/06?
