Hey to All, I ordered a 1749 but after typing in my Service Tag on the Dell Driver Update Webpage it states my Studio is a 1747.

My delivery time from order to deliver was 5 days; Friday till Tuesday. I just received it last week.

Maybe it was delivered so fast because it was already put together; like a returned order?

    thanks

I just emailed the Dell Salesman I ordered 1749 from telling him I ordered the $2000 laptop thinking it was the latest and best.

I ordered all the upgrades as I wanted the best possible.

Is it Dell's policy to sell one thing but get rid of old supply when possible???

    Does anyone understand my question???

Thanks to the brave soul that may answer this situation.

    Blessings,
    ChetanG

PS ordered in USA from Dell USA

My guess is that the quad core I7 makes it a 1747. 1749 only comes with dual core and 1066 memory. So, you got what you ordered. But if the US site is anything like the Canadian one, then this is all far from clear. 1749 is the latest, but not necessarily the best (if you want quad core)

    Thanks Coruja,
When I emailed the Dell Salesman he said they are the same and share the same drivers.
He did not say anything about the CPU difference.

This fact of yours tells me that the Salesman is not really aware of the differences of these laptops.

    Good lesson learned....
Dell Salesmen are salesmen and don't really know much about what they sell.
