Ordered Black 1720 on 8/20; NO DELAYS

My system as configured below was ordered on 8/20 and there have been no delays since DELL promised the original 9/12 ship date. As a matter of fact, I phoned live customer service a week ago just to check the status and they voluntarily offered a $75 credit as well as an overnight shipping upgrade. They upgraded the shipping and I must contact them once I receive my laptop and they'll issue the $75 credit.

Currently, as of 6 am CST today, my laptop is in testing. :wub:

I must honestly say I have had a good experience with DELL so far. After reading most all the posts in here it seems the July orders of the colored backs have had the longest delays; especially the pink & yellow ones.

I may sound like a DELL PR guy here but... we all ordered DELL products because we feel they are the best. I believe they are and maintain they are worth the wait.

Dell employee or some suck-up. I ordered a month before him. Plus, now that the Toshiba x205 is around the same price as my Dell. I don't think it's even close to being the best.

yeah i almost cancelled for the 205... but my price i got was way better than the x205 so i stayed with it for now

 

How did you get a 7200rpm drive with the 1520? And was the price aftering negotiating and bargaining?

 

They offer the 1520 w/ 7200 RPM drives... 1520 Configure Just click on the hard drive section and there are a couple of 7200 RPMs you can select.

As for the price, escalations gave around $400 off plus the original $325 coupon cause of all the problems he kept having.

Hey, I'll be happy if I'm a Dell employee, that way I can get my laptop which I ordered on 7/23. Your story is extremely improbably.
1. You got no laters, while my's taking till october to arrive even though I ordered a month before you.
2. I got no compensations, I asked them too, I got nothing.
