Ordered E1705 on 18th STILL IN PRE PRODUCTION

Hey guys ordered a nice Inspiron and got for a real good deal with 1 day shipping and 4 year premium warranty for total $1,884.52 caught last day of 35% off deal

But anyways I am still in pre production stage and wondering if that is normal its past order processing but seems stuck in Pre production but dell says Delivery Estimate: Thursday, July 27, 2006

Anyone esle have had promblems like this or is this normal , Last order from dell i canceled was same exact price but only 1.83ghz 1gb ram and 1 yr warranty but pre production was done the very same day as order put in!!!!!!!!!!! Help me Guys

Usually if it is stuck in pre-production, one of two things have happened. Either they are waiting for a part, or possibly your payment method wasn't approved. I would just call Dell up and see what they say. They can give you more information on what is going on with your order and you can probably get the shipping upgraded to next day/overnight for free since you order has been on hold for so long.

 

Well I know payment was approved because i checked my account and sure enough that $1800.00 was taken out i paid for the computer all at one time

 

My E 1505 was in pre production for 4 days and then on the 5th day it went to boxed past all the other stages and I received it on the date they had estimated shipping. It is sometimes hard to figure the processing time because I don't think they update the status a lot during making of your laptop. I would bet it is shipped on time.

 

Hmm, Dell doesn't charge your account until it is shipped. The website might not be updated.

Either way, I would still call Dell. Their phone system gives the most current updates about your laptop. If it says pre-production, then you really should talk to someone in Dell.

 

Yea you were right Dell just didnt update i just got an update and it actually just finished pre production 2 days ago .somehow i guess there were just slow on updating , What a relief

yeah i got my computer 2 days ago and it still says thats its in pre-production, maybe their websites the most efficient thing.

 

Are you sure that it's not just a hold on the funds? When you place the order Dell will place a hold on the the card for that amount to make sure that you have high enough of a limit to pay for it. Then when the order is shipped the card will be charged. For me it was listed as a "pending transaction".

 

Well its at the boxing stage now so nothing to be worried about , Well atleast i dont think so

 

I also ordered my 1705 on the 18, says its in testing right now.

yea dont know whats going on my order been in Boxing for 2 days now, And i guess really can't wait till the notebook comes its Killing me!!!!!!!

 

It is normal for boxing to take up to 3 days. This is the bad part about buying a customize laptop - you have to be patient and wait for it to get to you.

Just think, in a few weeks (once you get it) you won't even care how long it took to get to you.

Ok my now said shippied on 7/22/06 but when i click on order status it says ship prep Monday July 24 and Ship Date monday July 24 its strange maybe someone esle no whats this mean or what I am looking at is old estimates ?

haha got lucky. it arrived at the regional ups place at 4:08 AM and the truck left at 4:09 AM. got it 15 mins ago. a day early. ****, I knew it was going to be big but not that big lol.

 

I got my M90 two days after I ordered....

i,ve got a inspiron 6400, and i think that is big,,,,can,t imagine lugging a 1705 around

 

Hey Andrew you got me again mine said 4:01 am -4:02 am left my city for delivery BEEN WAITING ALL DAY since they just delivered yours not to long ago my shipment day is today but hope it comes before i have to go to class at 5pm Keep your fingers cross also what is the lastest UPS does drop offs anyway ?

Got My e1705 at 4pm today and loving it playing oblivion with maxed out settings

 

I used 35mark05 pro and got a 6300 right out of the box. I was really impresed. now I am going to get a baseline OC with coolbits and take it a bit further with powersrtip

 

yea...im having a similar problem....its stuck in pre-production and i ordered on the 24th...hopefully it gets updated really quickly

my comp arrived 10 days after order ,in pre-production more then a week

 

my 640m took just 1 day in production and its arriving tommorow
