I placed an order for an XPS M1330 early Monday morning just before the $300 off deal expired. Last night as I was about to shut my system down to go to bed, I got an email from PayPal that the funds had been successfully transfered. I checked the status page at Dell and it was showing that it had already shipped, with today as the delivery date. The last email I got from Dell was the confirmation email after I ordered it, showing an estimated ship date of December 27. I was having 2nd thoughts about getting such a beast of a notebook, and I was thinking I had time to make up my mind to decided whether to keep it or cancel it and get something else.

I get up this morning, check the DHL tracking page, and it says it is "with delivery courier." I go to let the dog out, and there it is sitting on my front porch.

Way to go DHL, leave a $1600 computer on my front door, in a big box with DELL written all over it, in the rain, and don't bother knocking or ringing the door bell to let me know it's here. On the tracking page it shows this for the Shipment Information:

Hey Dell, where's my computer, I didn't sign for it. ;)

That happened with me too. My xps m1530 was sitting on my back porch in the snow. Luckily my dad found it. He never heard a knock and nobody signed for it.

Was that also with DHL? That is lousy. Glad nothing happened to it.

Yes, I pretty much hate DHL.
