I ordered the Studio 17 on the 18th (Friday Night) I was wondering if anyone uses a regular "backpack" with their laptops, or do they do good? This will be my first laptop, therefore I want to take care of it best I can...I saw a "cute" backpack today school shopping for my youngins, but I was unsure how it would hold up, any suggestions? Thanks Y'all!

a backpack might be ok as long as you put the laptop in a sleeve to protect it...i do that sometimes... i also have a backpack that has a sleeve built in and that is the best choice i think..

I've been using the Crumpler Base Toucher L for my 15" Inspiron for four years now, and although it's a little stained and spotted it's still holding up great! No tears, rips, loose threads or anything like that, and the padding is still very good.

Not sure if my Studio 17 will fit, but if I have to buy a new backpack it will definitively be another Crumpler.

(Moderator: This thread could be moved to the "Accessories" category?)

i have a timbuk2 datadump backpack. fits 17" laptops. since it has its own laptop sleeve built in, not a whole lot of space for books, etc. depends on your use.

I have a crumpler backpack as well and I second that their quality and design are second to none. Very ergonomic and good looking backpacks. Mine is 5 years old and still looks brand new after heavy usage.
